While I am designing eyebrows, many people ask me about the tweezer I use. Through the years, I have tried many types of tweezer and these are by far the best. They are stainless steel (can be sterilized with boiling water or alcohol) and precision ground to a gentle angle.
I then made some sweet travel cases out of hand-dyed wool felt (and sometimes vintage ribbon) to protect your precision tweezers in your bag and prevent them from getting dull while keeping them in alignment.
Take care of your tweezer:
Wash your tweezer with a facial cleanser or witch hazel before and after each use. Return them to the case when not in use: dropping your tweezer may damage the tips or throw them out of alignment. To keep them in good shape, lightly oil your tweezers (I love coconut oil for this purpose) and keep them in a dry place. When cleaning or soaking in alcohol, do not soak them for more than 15 minutes.
How to tweeze:
1. Prep skin by holding a warm, damp cloth on the area for a moment.
2. Spread the area around the hair and grab (one hair at a time!) the hair while keeping the flat/angled tip of your tweezer flush with the skin. Gently pull in the direction of the hair growth (usually downward) removing the hair.
3. Apply a drop of Cow Fart Juice to calm and protect the area.
WORDS OF WISDOM: BEWARE OF OVERPLUCKING your brows! Unless you really love how you do your own eyebrows (and some people can do it) you are better off letting a professional give you a pleasing shape that complements your face. I mean it—get referrals from people who have great eyebrows!
Have you overplucked in the past and are trying to get your brows to grow back? Try applying Nourish & Replenish oil and using an eyebrow brush to smooth in the direction you want them to grow in. Daily application can really encourage the follicles to release the hair in a pleasing way. (note: N&R does not stimulate hair growth, it just helps everything look better as it grows back in!)
